This is a six-partner practice with two purpose built premises serving 7,000 patients in Surrey and 5,000 patients in Berkshire. There is a full range of ancillary staff available at both surgeries, together with use of modern equipment for investigations. We are fully computerised with a landline link between the two surgeries. We are part of the Berkshire East PCT and have been a training partnership for over 30 years. In addition to GP trainees we also often have medical students from Oxford, Imperial and Southampton Medical Schools.
Dr Manjinder Uppal joined the partnership in 1997 and has been a Programme Director for the Windsor Vocational Training Scheme since 1999. Dr Charles Walker and Dr Julian Howells are KSS Deanery trainers. We often have several learners at one time, which has worked well for small group learning in preparation for the AKT and CSA examinations. GP trainees will have their own well equipped room for consulting and will be based in Old Windsor.
The practice runs its own diabetic, antenatal, asthma, immunisation, paediatric surveillance and health promotion clinics. It has an in-house counsellor, anti-coagulation clinic and the usual attached staff.
Our outside appointments include responsibility for sheltered accommodation complexes, St Johns Beaumont Preparatory School, three nursing residential homes, three learning disabilities homes and a probation hostel. The Partners are young, dynamic and keen on medical education. There is a good team spirit. Three previous Registrars in the practice have been awarded the Stoke Poges Trainee of the Year award and many are now established in local medical practices as principals.
Please contact Dr Manjinder Uppal if you have any queries regarding training at the practice.
